Teacher Apreciation Bulletin Boards

Trever attends Ft. Caroline Elementary. The PTA has set forth inexpensive items we are to give our teachers each day of the week as well as requested that we (the homeroom mom's) decorate the bulletin boards that adorn the hallways of the school. The idea is to incorporate what the children and the teacher's enthusiasm into the bulletin board theme. I have really enjoyed preparing the bulletin boards the last two years and will miss this task we we move Trever over to Grace Lutheran for the remaining of elementary school.
Trever has had "team teachers" for the past two years. Duval County has elected to have team teachers in order to accommodate the size of the school and the class size amendment. Trever this year had been taught by Mr. Sean Gurd & Mrs. Dia Weertz. They are fabulous teachers who have done a good job accommodating Trever all year and pushing him to print better, so that he can continue to express his creativity through writing, read above grade level requirements and more. I cannot say enough about these teachers. I knew it would be a bit of a challenge to incorporate both teachers into one board and honor their dedication to the students. After interviewing the teachers I found that they both really appreciate NFL Football! {Whoot Whoot! GO JAGUARS!} Mr. Gurd pulls for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Mrs. Weertz is a Detroit Lions fan. I wanted my theme to represent the idea that they were legendary coaches bringing their best to the field which in turn made for one great game. The field is the classroom and the game is the school year.

What ya think?
My sister in law Brianna has been making boards before me and here are her creations for the 09-10 school year.

She made this board for Mrs. Smith, Madyson's 1st grade teacher.  The little cards have pictures of each of her students and they explain what they love about Mrs. Smith.  The Police Officer is actually Mrs. Smith's husband!  Brianna did a great job incorporating Mrs. Smith's personal life into her board.
Brianna, also, did this board for Mrs. McNeely, Colson's 2nd grade teacher.  The little cards also detail what the children love about the teacher, but are too suggest the ingredients that Mrs. McNeely has for being a sucessful teacher.
Here are some additional boards created in the school.
This board was created for an expecting teacher.  She has just found out she was expecting a girl, so the mother did the theme based on her wonderful news!
