Happy Easter

Easter is the celebration of life, when we celebrate the resurection. In the past 8 years the Lord has blessed my family with lots of life. Here is Braydon and Tyler enjoying the Easter weather. These boys will be buddies for life.

Colson & Trever have been buddies since birth. Here they are just "hanging out" on Easter.

Happy Easter from my family to yours!

Bench of Love

I spent a lot of time as a young child with both sets of my grandparents. My maternal grandparents have passed on to Heaven. There isn’t much left of their belongings due to the fact that once my grandfather passed in 1998, my grandmother moved around until she settled into a room at a memory care unit. Most of her items were pillaged through and divided; a lot of things were also discarded. She did, however, keep some pieces of furniture in her dormitory style room, so that she could feel as “at home” as possible. When she passed way in October what remained from her limited furniture was divided again for the last time. My cousin took some pieces as well as my brother and mom.

I took the straw bench that has nestled its way in a corner of every home that my grandparents lived in while I grew up. It sat in my garage until after Christmas. I knew when I acquired the bench there were some other pressing craft projects that were to be completed before it. I took my time shopping for fabrics and paints. I knew this bench had the potential to look dashing.

This is what it looked like finished. Looks good if I do say so myself.

Here it is placed in the house.

Prayers are being answered!

We received a phone call from the principal at Grace Lutheran School today and do you know what he said?? He said they have a spot available for Trever to attend 2nd grade there next year! YEAH!!! We will continue to pray for tuition assistance to come through, whether it be in the form of scholarships or raises at work ;). The Lord will provide the way.. I am really starting to become more certain in this phrase and my confidence the Lord is working in my life is soaring.

Troy and I began the process in September of seeking out private investment funds so that we may begin our own business buying and selling real estate. Troy has been rehabbing houses for investors that "flip" properties for 7 years. I have done the bookkeeping for "flippers" for 5 years now. We are well versed in how this process goes...however there is an old saying, "You need money to make money." And that was where our obstacle has been in "flipping" our own houses. We have prayed, bided our time and I can sucessfully say Sunday we received confirmation that we have an investor! Troy will sign the final contract today. What a blessing this will be for our family. I cannot predict where this road will lead us, but I will tell you this has been a goal of ours for years. This has been our goal as a couple and family and to know that it will come alive is amazing. There is of course lots more left to accomplish to complete all goals laid out but to see the foundation arising has me speechless (very rare I know!). I am so proud of my husband and I and the life we have created together.

Your Hands By JJ Heller

I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn't there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That You would take my pain away
That You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crookedly lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

When You walked upon the Earth
You healed the broken, lost, and hurt
I know You hate to see me cry
One day You will set all things right
Yea, one day You will set all things right

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

Your hands
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave You when...

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave...
I never leave Your hands

This Easter has been very reflective for me to remember where I have come from and where I have been. But I am most thankful to look back and KNOW, FEEL and REALIZE the Lord has always been with me. Lord Before these feet of mine.

Happy 7th Birthday Trever

Really I know it's a cliché to say it goes by fast, but really it has.. my oldest baby is 7… Its blows my mind. Can we slow down this roller coaster just a bit please???? I will quit whining. Trever had a great birthday. We didn't have a big celebration because he asked for us to make his room into a STAR WARS room! Of course he knew I was up for it because I love projects!

Here is Troy assembling the bunk beds. We painted 3 walls WEDGEWOOD GREY and 1 wall PATRIOTIC BLUE to match the bedding found at http://www.target.com/ (online only..not in stores)

I purchased black and gray comforters in lieu of the inexpensive and scratchy comforters offered with the sheet set. The boys put Star Wars wall stickers above the bed and loved it! We have had some very successful sleeping nights in the new room!

Trever had his cousin Colson and best buddy Kaleb sleep over in the new room for an official party! They celebrated with silly string and were certain to include Tyler. Although I don't believe Tyler wanted to be included! J

He had a wonderful birthday and celebrated in Star Wars Style. Happy Birthday my colicy baby.. there are days when I miss hearing your first words and seeing your first steps so much. You are growing into a wonderful young man.

Your family loves you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quilt for the School Auction

Tyler's school, Grace Lutheran, does a silent & live auction each year. This year we were to submit one handmade item from the class. The teacher had each child color the squares and then we ironed on thier pictures. I was then given the task of putting together the quilt. It was my first quilt and I attempted it as best as I could. I think that inspite of it all it came out rather well. I hope it sells! :)

I have been busy busy busy 2010. I am focusing more in real estate now than I have before. I have also taken time to do my projects around the house. I turned a secretary that was in my parents home growing up and turned it into a tv stand. I, also, made over a bench that had been in my grandmothers house as well. It was one of the last peices of furniture she had with her at the nursing home. It turned out FABULOUS! I will post pictures of it over the weekend. :)

Trever is doing AWESOME in first grade. We are making big decisions in his educational future right now. Pray with us for assistance to place him in the best schools. We are hoping for some grants to come through to place him at Grace Lutheran with Tyler. They have a wonderful program there and I believe Trever would grow so much as a young man in the environment they have created there.

Tyler is funny as ever and keeps us laughing all of the time. He is very much into books right now especially Where the Wild Things Are. He is a great little boy.

Troy and I have been taking time to ride the motorcycle while the weather has warmed up and it has been a luxury! I enjoy it so much. I love the alone time he and I spend together as well as the quiet time I receive while being towed on the back. Mom has promised to keep the boys Saturday so that we may go again! I can't wait!! I live for dates with my man!!
