No Matter What, Kerrie Roberts

The end of 2010 has come with many challenges, from a sinking real estate market, learning emotional boundries, having a very sick Grandmother, and more.  Somedays are so mentally challenging for me that it feels like getting out of bed is a HUGE chore.  But I know that once I am out of bed and force myself into routine I find I feel better. I heard this song as I probably do every day on The Promise today and it really hit me.  I need to remember to continue to "Let God & Let God" .. no matter what the circumstance maybe presenting itself at that time. I know the Lord presents all of its challenges in my life because I can handle them.  I need to remember to trust in Him, NO MATTER WHAT!

I’m running back to your promises one more time, Lord that’s all I can hold on to, I gotta say this has taken me by surprise, but nothing surprises you. Before a heartache can ever touch my life, it has to go through Your hands, and even though I keep asking why, I keep asking why.
No matter what, I’m gonna love You, no matter what I’m gonna need You, I know You can find a way to keep me from the pain but if not, I’ll trust you, no matter what, no matter what.
When I’m stuck and there’s nothing else by myself, I’m just sitting in silence, there’s no way I can make it without Your help, I won’t even try it. I know You have Your reasons for everything, so I will keep believing, whatever I might be feeling, God you are my hope, and you will be my strength,
No matter what, I’m gonna love You, no matter what I’m gonna need You, I know You can find a way to keep me from the pain but if not, I’ll trust you, no matter what, no matter what.
Anything I don’t have You can give it to me, but it’s OK if You don’t, I’m not here for those things, the touch of Your love is enough on its own, no matter what I still love You and I’m gonna need You
No matter what I’m gonna love you, no matter what I’m gonna need you, I know You can find a way to keep me from the pain but if not , I’ll trust You, no matter what, no matter what. I know You can find a way to keep me from the pain, but if not, I’ll trust you, no matter what no matter what no matter no matter what

Dancing In the Mindfields by Andrew Peterson

I couldn't find a more perfect song.  I heard this on The Promise the other day I balled.  This is our song!!!!!!!!!  Its us (minus being married 15 years, we are 9.5 years).  I love love love love this song.  Scratch anything else I've heard.  I want to dance around the living the room with my head on Troy's chest to this song.

Lead Me by Sanctus Real

Its been a while since I posted lyrics.  I love this song.  AMAZING!!  It is so true on so many levels. I may not hear the song the way it was intended when it was written but it really speaks to me.

The song seems somewhat somber in the lyrics that say "I know this is our home but I still feel alone" Don't leave me chasing dreams, don't forget about us"  I process the lyrics to say, do not to get hung up in our daily lives working hard trying to build our dreams for our family that we lose sight of today.  I process the lyrics to say we are willing to fight to keep our marriage strong and our children's emotional and spiritual needs met. This song helps me to remember to stay grounded in today.  No matter how independent I behave, I look to Troy to lead me, to lead our family. Which makes the first part of the lyrics so strong.  The second part of the song is also very affirming in that no matter how independent we may feel our children are, especially as they grow older and depend on us less, they still need us.  They are still looking to us for direction and guidance. We don't want to create a house that doesn't feel like home.  We want our children to know family first! But what I really take most from the song is that, I can't depend on Troy and the children can't depend on us if we don't look to the Father to lead us.  We must remember to ask God to "lead me with strong hands, stand up when I can't." "Father give me the strength to be everything I am called to be, Oh Father show me the way to lead them. Won't you lead me?"

Better Together

Troy and I have been working hard this summer with our first venture into the property investment world. We have also pushed ourselves to be more disciplined with the boys as they get older. These tasks along with the daily stress' of life can sometimes become well...overwhelming. I find ourselves giving each other pep talks on a daily basis. No we aren't whining to one another just simply expressing our feelings and allowing each other to vent. And Thank God that we can vent to one another. There is no better cheerleader in my life than my husband. He is a good man to me and father to my sons.
Often I reference Christian lyrics, but not today. I was toggling through the ipod and came across this oldie but goodie! Jack Johnson..Better Together. And truly Troy and I are a better team than we are individuals. Its always better when we are together.  My favorite line from the song is "It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving; I'll tell you one thing, it's so much better when we're together"

Here are the full lyrics in case you aren't wanting to watch the video!

Better Together by Jack Johnson

There is no combination of words I could put on the postcard
And no song that I could sing, but I can try because this is your heart and this is
Our dreams and they are made out of real things
Like a shoebox of photographs with sepia-toned loving
Love is the answer at least for most of the questions in my heart, like
Why are we here? And where do we go? And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving

I'll tell you one thing, it's so much better when we're together
Mmm, so much better when we're together
Yeh, we'll look at the stars when we're together
Well it's so much better when we're together
Yeh, it's so much better when we're together

All of these moments just might find their way into my dreams tonight
But I know that they'll be gone when the morning light sings
Or brings new things for tomorrow night you see
They'll be gone too, to many things I have to do
But follow these dreams might find their way into my day to day scene
I'd be under the impression, I was somewhere in between
With only two, just me and you, not so many things we got to do
Or places we got to be, we'll sit beneath the mango tree now

Yeh, so much better when we're together
Mmm, we're somewhere in between together
Well, it's so much better when we're together
Yeh, so much better when we're together

I believe in memories because they look so,
So pretty when I sleep
And when I wake up you look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing

We're better together
We so much better when we're together
We so much better when we're together

What's giving me motivation this week?

If you have followed my blog long enough, you know that I enjoy listening to chrisitan music and that when the song moves me enough I enjoy sharing it here!

This week as all weeks seem to be, I can't wait for FRIDAY!  I can't wait to have 2 days to spend with my family and enjoy each others company on our time using our agenda.  There are days when I wrestle with my mind to get out of bed and get the boys of to school and myself off to work.  I would much rather stay in bed and cuddle with the kiddos, popping popcorn and playing all day.  But, alas reality kicks in and I get moving on our regularly scheduled programming.  I climb in the car, drop of the kids and find comfort in cranking up the radio, opening the sunroof and cruising to work.  Today this is the song that made me want to press "repeat" and listen to all day. Ok, so all day is a bit of an exaggeration, but it really motivated me this morning.

Lyrics | Aaron Shust lyrics - My Savior My God lyrics

By the way, I have found these new widgets to bring you the lyrics and the opportunity for you to listen to the song as well!

Two Hands

Some days I don't feel like I have enough hands to get it all done. Most days I wonder why I even making a freaking to do list.. will any of it get done?? And once it does how soon until it needs to be completed again (laundry, toilets, floors... oh my!!) I feel frustration from the responsibilities on my plate. Yet I remember that I want to do these things and I again I find myself searching for balance. This achievement of balance is ongoing but closer each day. I wouldn't change anything in my life it’s wonderful. I would however choose how I react to situations when I am too stressed. I have learned that when these times arise I can really find comfort in musical lyrics. I am a HUGE listener of 88.1 The Promise. It is on my radio each time I am in the car. One the way to work I heard this song from Jars of Clay "Two Hands"- and I was taken aback. What a great perspective..what if I had two hands focusing on one thing?? What if I stopped trying to multitask constantly and just slowed down to focus on one thing at a time? What a novel concept!! LMAO here- so simple yet so lost in translation! I am going to take this weekend to reflect on the lyrics and how they can help me evolve in my character and achievement of balance between family, work and friends!

Without further ado...

Your Hands By JJ Heller

I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn't there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That You would take my pain away
That You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crookedly lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

When You walked upon the Earth
You healed the broken, lost, and hurt
I know You hate to see me cry
One day You will set all things right
Yea, one day You will set all things right

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

Your hands
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave You when...

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave...
I never leave Your hands

This Easter has been very reflective for me to remember where I have come from and where I have been. But I am most thankful to look back and KNOW, FEEL and REALIZE the Lord has always been with me. Lord Before these feet of mine.

Climb My Walls

I love music. When I find a song I love I listen to it over and over again. Ask my girlfriends Trin and Leah about it. They will attest to the fact that I can over kill a song. I used to tell Trin "One day when I am not around you will hear this song and always think of me." Currently my CD in the car is Lady Antebellum. It is a county trio for those of you have not heard of them. I purchased the CD because I have enjoyed their popular hits on the radio "I run to you" and "Love don't live here anymore." But in typical Joy fashion I like to listen to the whole CD and find my favorite song that I don't want them to release on the radio. I know it sounds silly but I have always been like this with albums. I enjoy music that isn't over played by the mainstream stations. The song that I have granted to be my favorite song on this CD is "Can't take my eyes off you." It is a ballad in 3/4 time and really lends itself to a beautiful waltz. If Troy and I were to have another wedding I would definitely dance to this song. We have been married 8 years this past May. Honestly, he is just as wonderful today as he was 9 years ago when we got engaged. 9 years later there is still that feeling I felt when we feel in love. I still love to watch him from across the room. There is a line in the song that says "you climb my walls." At first when I heard it I thought, what??? you climb my walls??? But after further analyzing of it, it's a cute interpretation for that blanketing feeling of love. The love that covers you and makes you feel warm inside. So with out further ado, here are the lyrics to the song that is on repeat in my car at the moment.

Can't Take My Eyes Off You :
Dave Haywood / Charles Kelley / Hillary Scott

I know that the bridges that I’ve burned
Along the way
Have left me with these walls and these scars
That won’t go away
And opening up has always been the hardest thing
Until you came

Chorus
So lay here beside me just hold me and don’t let go
This feelin’ I’m feelin’ is somethin’ I’ve never known
And I just can’t take my eyes off you
And I just can’t take my eyes off you

I love when you tell me that I’m pretty
When I just wake up
And I love how you tease me when I’m moody
But it’s never too much
I’m falling fast but the truth is I’m not scared at all
You climbed my walls

Repeat Chorus

Off you
Off you

Repeat Chorus

Free To Be Me

I hear this song often on the local christian radio station. I really enjoy the beat of the music but particularly the lyrics. They ring so true to how I feel about myself and my relationship with God. I hope you enjoy.

Album: My Paper Heart
Artist & Songwriter: Francesca Battistelli

At twenty years of age I'm still looking for a dream
A war's already waged for my destiny
But You've already won the battle
And You've got great plans for me
Though I can’t always see

(Chorus)
‘Cause I got a couple dents in my fender
Got a couple rips in my jeans
Try to fit the pieces together
But perfection is my enemy
On my own I'm so clumsy
But on Your shoulders I can see
I'm free to be me

When I was just a girl I thought I had it figured out
My life would turn out right, and I'd make it here somehow
But things don't always come that easy
And sometimes I would doubt

(Chorus)

And you’re free to be you
Sometimes I believe that I can do anything
Yet other times I think I've got nothing good to bring
But You look at my heart and You tell me That I've got all You seek
And it’s easy to believe
Even though

(Chorus)
